Jimmy Carter
A sketch of Jimmy Carter was done on Radio Bond Paper using Derwent Sketch pencil (almost all of my sketch done using this brand). It takes about 1 hour to render till this stage of sketch.
Many complains that it looks no similiarity to Jimmy Carter at all..hmmm...what to say?! I admit that but i still post it because i like the toning and the exaggerate results from the sketch.:)
Jimmy Carter?
James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. (born October 1, 1924) was the 39th President of the United States (1977–1981) and the Nobel Peace laureate in 2002. Previously, he was the Governor of Georgia (1971–1975). In 1976, Carter won the Democratic nomination as a dark horse candidate, and went on to defeat incumbent Gerald Ford in the 1976 presidential election.
As President his major initiatives included the consolidation of numerous governmental agencies into the newly formed Department of Energy, a cabinet level department. He enacted strong environmental legislation; deregulated the trucking, airline, rail, finance, communications, and oil industries; bolstered the social security system; and appointed record numbers of women and minorities to significant government and judicial posts.
In foreign affairs, Carter's major initiatives included the Camp David Accords, the Panama Canal Treaties, the creation of full diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, and the negotiation of the SALT II Treaty. In addition, he championed human rights throughout the world and used human rights as the center of his administration's foreign policy...more on Wikipedia

After Algeria's independence in 1962, he became deputy of Tlemcen in the Constituent Assembly and Minister for Youth and Sport in the government led by Ahmed Ben Bella. The next year, he was appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs and remained in this position until the death of President Houari Boumedienne in 1978, of who he was considered to be the right arm.
In 1979, he expected to succeed Boumedienne as President but the Army decided otherwise and chose Chadli Bendjedid instead. Although he then became Minister of State, he was progressively pushed away and left the political arena in 1981.
